Lasallian is a term to describe a person who is personally fulfilling the mission set forth by Saint John Baptist de La Salle.
The Brothers of the Christian Schools
In its most basic form, a Lasallian is a person who is influenced by the written works and social initiatives of St. John Baptist de La Salle; someone who is committed to living Gospel values regardless of whether they are married, 单, 神圣的, 或任命. Their life is built on respect and reverence for all those around them because they recognize that we are all made in God's image.
类似的, anyone who follows our Founder's path and chooses a Lasallian vocation passionately believes in providing a human and Christian education to the young regardless of a student's financial circumstances. They are moved by compassion and commitment, and they embrace a sense of togetherness.
For us here at De La Salle, we believe that being Lasallian means being part of something bigger than you can fully comprehend. St. John Baptist de la Salle saw that the best way to lead young people to the fullness of life and to true salvation was to touch the hearts of his students in an educational experience that allowed them to know and realize their dignity as a child of God. This is what we try to emulate at our school.
Today, the Lasallian mission stretches across all continents. There are over one million students in Lasallian schools being educated by over 90,000 educators. Those educators are a mix of laymen and women as well as a group of dedicated Christian Brothers, all working together to make the Kingdom of God a reality through their educational mission.
To be Lasallian means to be part of something that has transformed the hearts and minds of many and will continue to do so in the future.
